Restoration Earth

An Interdisciplinary Journal for the Study of Nature & Civilization

Ocean Seminary College is pleased to announce the formalization of its publication arm to support interdisciplinary scholarship, artistic expression, and a restored, mutual connection to planet Earth. To meet these goals, OSC is announcing the arrival of Restoration Earth. The purpose of this peer-reviewed online journal is to encourage exploration of the relationship between human civilization and its impact upon human and non-human communities from all academic disciplines, including the sciences and social sciences, religion and philosophy, humanities and the arts (both scholastic and creative). Diverse scholarship perspectives, including those questioning or countering whether there is a relationship/interaction or whether there is a moral imperative to change human society are encouraged and welcomed. Further, researchers and artists are encouraged not to restrict their submissions to overt discussions of the environment, but rather to reflect upon possible cultural areas that may covertly contribute to the maintenance of non-sustainable human civilizations. Ultimately, the goal of this journal is to create a rich and inclusive dialogue in the hopes of providing pathways through the cultural, humanitarian, and environmental challenges facing the 21st Century.

Published two times a year: November 15 and May 15.
Deadline for Issue 2, Volume 2 is September 1; topic: exploring myth, literature, language and the environmental issue; special topics section on environment science and education, conservation/environmental/eco- psychology; environmental philosophy.

The journal utilizes APA format; however Chicago Manual of Style or MLA is acceptable and will be copyedited to meet the standards of the journal. Full-length articles: 3,500-8,000 words; book and media reviews: 500-2000 words; visual graphics 300pixels required, 600 preferred. Articles with multi-author commentary are permitted.
