OSC Writing Center

While seminary education functions differently than traditional university education, writing is remains a critical part of the process and also becomes important in your professional lives. Writing is especially important within an online environment; after all it is through our writing that we communicate with others and demonstrate our understanding of the material. This does not mean that each of you are expected to be gifted writers, but rather than when you do work in your lessons and discussions your work illustrates care and coherency. At OSC helping each student succeed is critical and as such I have established this page with common problems and tips for successful graduate writing and research.

One of the first issues to address is the fear of writing. Most of us have had poor experiences in school when it comes to learning grammar and spelling. And I know for myself, I am always thankful for Spell Check in Word! In this fashion, one of the first hurdles for successful writing is to recognize that you do not have to be fearful of it.
