Friends & Religious Communities

Finding the right religious organization is an important decision. Our relationship with our religious organizations often become a critical component of our social lives and our psychospiritual development. To help individuals explore their options, OSC has created this "Friends and Religious Communities" clearinghouse pages. Throughout the year, we'll be updating our lists and adding new friends. If you are part of a community, please email us to have your information listed. We embrace all faiths and look to create an in-depth resource for individuals to help them explore their options.

However, please keep in mind that OSC does not vet all organizations and cannot ultimately speak to the individual experiences you may have. We encourage you to always remember to keep to your instincts and to recognize that you can always leave any group for any reason at any time. Remember finding a religious organization is as much about finding a good and psychologically safe fit between you and the organization as it is about expressing your spiritual and religious inclinations and beliefs. To help you assess your organizations, you may read Dr. MacDowell's chapter on indoctrination attached. While the text refers to Neopagan groups, it is applicable for all religious groups (and groups in general).
